BIOGRAPHY
Stages of love, arranged in five movements.
Deyana Janae is an R&B, jazz and neo-soul vocalist, writer and producer, and a student of the UNT School of Music - one of the most rigorous jazz programs in the country. That training shows up in the phrasing: she writes like someone who knows exactly which note she's leaving out.
Her debut EP, S.O.L - Stages of Love - traces romantic love through its emotional phases, borrowing its architecture from the stages of grief. It's a conceptual record that never announces itself as one, and it established the register she's been refining since: intimate, unhurried, technically fearless.
Alongside her own catalog she runs Deya'Soul and teaches piano and voice - a working musician's practice that keeps her close to the craft while the career builds around it.
