Ty Macklin
Multi-Platinum Producer & Composer - also records as XL7
A producer's ear, across four genres.
Ty Macklin is a multi-platinum producer and composer working across hip-hop, R&B, soul, electronica and nu-jazz. He also records and releases as XL7.
The range is the point. Producers who stay inside one genre get hired for one sound; Ty's catalog moves between rhythm-led production and more open, jazz-leaning arrangement, which is why the credits span the room they do.
Alongside production he runs X-Square Music and AOE Recording Studios, and offers beats, recording and mixing - a working producer's practice rather than a closed studio.
